Elon Musk's X agrees to settle with thousands of
fired workers over severance payments he had promised
in the buyout contracts he signed as new Owner of the
social media platform. He had pared down the # of
employees from 7,500 to 2,000 and a class-action
lawsuit was successful in its argument that Musk
owed the employees $500 million in such severance
payments. His battle with senior executives of Twitter
continues ahead in 2025 over $128 million in severance
payments.
