Local historian and museum curator Carol Bainbridge is also an officer for the Underground Railroad Society of CASS COUNTY (primarily Vandalia, Michigan); according to a South Bend (IN) Tribune news article by Douglas Farmer, she overviewed the two-day event, "We almost immediately decided we need to have tours; obviously in 30 minutes you aren't getting a huge detailed tour. You will get an overview of the Underground Railroad in this area."
STOPS at Bogue House, Bonine House, Cass County Courthouse (Cassopolis) -- all played a role in the 1850 "Kentucky Raid" / a WMU Anthropology professor will also lecture on "Ramptown" during the Saturday events planned. . .
