The Sunday April 14, 2024 airing of a Madison Square Garden concert
of pianist / songwriter / singer Billy Joel will be re-aired this coming
Friday due to a cut-off during the song "Piano Man" by the noted
singer-songwriter. The live event had been pre-taped and the Sunday
night airing with commercials had begun late due to CBS Sports coverage
of the Masters Golf Tournament and a regular "60 minutes" news program.
This meant that the local affiliates were not allowed to leave the concert
but the network signal was abruptly concluded.
The concert in totality will be shown from 9 - 11 p.m. Friday 4/19 and
no operational cut-off will occur again.
