At the upcoming Conclave in the Sistine Chapel,
Vatican City
if all of the 135 eligible Cardinals (under the age of 80)
vote and speak and confer with one another,
90 (a 2/3 consensus) are required to
elect the new Pope. That individual
will be presented to the awaiting
multitude who look for the "white
smoke" coming out from the
Renaissance - era chapel. In charge
ahead of that election is the
Camerlengo [Italian for "chamberlain"].
Once they enter Conclave, no one else
can be admitted nor can anyone exit
before the election.
