March 7 -- historic event held at Pettus bridge, Selma, Alabama, USA

from Montgomery Advertiser (Capital of Alabama's newspaper online):
WASHINGTON – The entire first family will be in Selma on March 7, 2015 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1965 voting rights marches.
President Barack Obama said he and first lady Michelle Obama and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, will make the trip "to pay tribute not just as a president or a first lady or as African-Americans, but as Americans -- to those who changed the course of history at the Edmund Pettus Bridge."
Obama will be joined by former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, and at least 95 members of Congress.
"President and Mrs. Bush believe it's important to honor such a seminal date in the history of human dignity and human rights," said Freddy Ford, a spokesman for the former president.
Obama, in a White House event Thursday (Feb. 26, 2015) celebrating Black History Month, said the Selma event will honor "the legends and the giants of the civil rights movement," including the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rep. John Lewis of Georgia.
