The President hasn't shied away from talking about his age and his birthday lately, noting in a recent speech that his hair is getting grayer, and citing his slower metabolism as the reason for choosing a six-inch sub during last week's visit to Tastee Sub Shop in Edison, New Jersey."I can’t eat a 12-inch these days, now that I’m 49 -- well, I will be in a week," President Obama said during his visit to promote the small business bill, which is now officially dead in the Senate.
Gibbs said yesterday when asked about the President's age references that while there's no doubt that the presidency comes with enormous physical and mental strain, President Obama "greatly enjoys" the job.
"I can’t imagine that the weight of the job doesn’t take a toll physically and mentally on anybody that does it," Gibbs added. "He knew what he was getting himself into in deciding several years ago to undertake this."
