Irrigation and fexofenadine (180 mg)

Dr. Metzger and his nurse helped alleviate the earache symptoms with the "Elephant Ear Wash System" and the sinus drainage as well as with a prescription antihistamine (one a day).  Here's how the Merck Manual (online) reviews the medical procedure:
Earwax (cerumen) may block the ear canal. Even large amounts of earwax often cause no symptoms. Symptoms can range from itching to a loss of hearing. A doctor may remove the earwax by gently flushing out the ear canal with warm water (irrigation).

Morning of August 4 -- as thunderstorm ahead of warm front rolled through Berrien county off Lake Michigan.
