The early Christian writing is quoted/cited in St. Irenaeus of Lyons'
ADVERSUS HAERESES (Against the Heresies) : [Book 4, ch. 20]
Correctly, then has the WRITING
expressed itself that says:
"FIRST of all believe that there
is one GOD, who established all
things and adorned them, having
created all things out of nothing
that they might have existence.
He comprehends all things
but is comprehended by no one!"
Shepherd of Hermas, #2, Sim. 1
translated by Dominic Unger for
ACW volume 72 [books 4-5
of Irenaeus' systematic work]
