from THE GOLDEN AGE OF MARITIME MAPS (2013)
page 10 "Oceanic Overture"
Who shall know the marvels of the sea,
The horror of perishing there
Of emotional and troubling waves
beyond measure?
Who shall witness her roiled
by heavy winds, Shoved,
Roiled, sublimated and destroyed,
And then suddenly tranquil, without
breaks? Who will know his place in
nature's plan?
But who can say: "I have lived such
and such an adventures,"
And who but can sail above of it?
This one can very well state,
without any doubt, "Oh marvelous
and terrible workmanship
Of the marvels that live beneath"!
