The pianist and founder of bossa Nova music (Brasil pop-jazz)
died in Los Angeles Thursday at the age of 83.
His ensemble was Brasil '66
Over decades he had released more than 30 albums,
won 3 Grammy awards, and was nominated in 2012
for an Academy Award for original song in the film
"Rio."
