 This year, Goodwill Industries of Michiana announces its 75th Anniversary.  In 1936, Rev. Gerald Clore, a Methodist Minister, began Goodwill Industries of St. Joseph County, Inc. at: 1137 Western Avenue in South Bend.  The name was later changed to:  Goodwill Industries of Michiana, Inc.  The current President and CEO, J. Larry Neff, began as Executive Director in 1973.   He has managed Goodwill’s growth to develop 22 stores throughout Northwest Indiana, Niles, Michigan and Lansing, Illinois.  About 5,000 people receive training in Goodwill programs each year and 726 people were placed in jobs in the community last year.
