Empty Bowls (Soup and Chili Supper) - 20th year - Sale of handmade bowls and ample food benefits Redbud Area Ministries, Buchanan, MI

4:30 - 7 p.m. at Buchanan High School Cafeteria -- Friday April 17, 2015 --
SPONSORS are Buchanan Art Center, Buchanan Community Schools, local potters, and Redbud Area Ministries (RAM Food Pantry); you can have supper and take home a handmade pottery bowl.

Elementary Art Teacher Sarah Castelluccio has guided students at both Moccasin and Ottawa Elementary School in making and decorating the ceramics.  Middle School and High School teacher Ryan Mohney is having students make sculptures to sell at the supper.  There will also be a memorabilia table from the past two decades and an open potter's wheel to "throw one more" pottery piece for oldtime's sake.

The menu of soup and chili (chefs Suzette Henderschott and Tim Corrigan) also includes options for macaroni and cheese for kids, a vegetarian option as well as gluten-free choices.

Tickets at the door are $5 for adults and $3 for middle school and younger.
