captained by Eugene Cernan

was the last time U.S. or any

astronauts walked on a non-

terrestrial surface (Dec. 7 - 19,

1972).  A scientist was on board

[ geologist Harrison Schmitt ]

and it was the 6th successful

trip from Earth to the Moon.
