taught enslaved and freed_ Black children --
archaeologists estimate ~400 students

Subsequent to its re-use, It had served as the military
science dept. for
the university at Williamsburg and before that
a women's dormitory (Methodist) at College
of William and Mary, Williamsburg.
It has been renovated and relocated into the
colonial Williamsburg tourist education experience
area.
