Ag Secretary (Cabinet - level) Brooke Rollins
has announced June 23 that the "Roadless Rule"
(2001) that preserves the wild nature of nearly
a third of the land in the national forests will be
repealed. This is part of a multi-department to
bypass environmental protection and endangered
species legislation in order to boost the supply
of domestic lumber.
