Spring Bluebird Festival returns

ANN ARBOR, MI - Educational programs, exhibits and other programs will be on display this weekend as the Michigan Bluebird Society hosts its annual Spring Bluebird Festival.
The festival is from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24 at the Morris Lawrence Building at Washtenaw Community College - 4800 E. Huron River Drive, according to a press release from the society.
The event is free and open to the public.
The purpose of the festival is to educate people about how to help bluebirds improve their nesting success and survival long term in the state, according to the release.
Representatives of the Michigan Bluebird Society will be there to answer questions on bluebirds and help people interested in attracting them with nesting boxes and feeders, according to the release.
There will also be a Bluebird Expo featuring products for sale and other conservation group informational displays, according to the release. A supervised Kids' Activity Area will be set up with educational projects and games for children.
Eastern bluebirds are open-country birds that are native to Michigan and most of the eastern United States. They are year-round residents of the state in the southern areas of the Lower Peninsula, and breed in all 83 counties
