If President Abraham Lincoln avoided novels, what did he know of "Uncle Tom's Cabin"?

 A debatable matter - - - - -

Some historians think it's unlikely that

POTUS 16 ever read Uncle Tom's Cabin,

since Lincoln admitted to associates and

interviewers that he avoided reading novels.

As radical Republican leader/ U.S. Senator

Charles Sumner declared, "Had there been

no Uncle Tom's Cabin , there would have

been no Lincoln in the White House."

pages 216 - 218 "A New Year" section

in chapter 9 of The Road To Dawn by

Jared Brock (Hachette Books,2018).
