According to NHK World News,
Japan set a new record for hottest
summer average temperatures:
a record 13 days with daytime highs
greater than 30 degrees Celsius or
higher. In August, Isesaki City in
Gunma Prefecture recorded the
highest-ever temperature of 41.8 degrees
C.
