 He was already an official in the Commerce Department;

this is yet another example of an individual who holds

several jobs simultaneously :

for example, Marco Rubio who is both the Secy. of State

and the National Security Adviser, head of the National

Security Council while also holding the position of

National Archivist and Administrator of U.S. A.I.D.

NPR dot-org learned of this move to install an acting

head of the Census.  It is not due to be held again until

2030.
