Text: "Father, into Thy hands, I commend
my Spirit"
Preacher : Morehouse College President
Jesus died challenging God;
one need not feel sorry for a great
man's glorious death.
Mays told of how bravely great men
have died, true to the causes for which
their lives had been dedicated [ Mohandas
K. Gandhi, Socrates ].
"Feel sorry for the man who dies
running away licked, a coward,
fearfully having failed to fight for
justice for all peoples of the world."
At different stages of his work on earth,
Jesus was plagued by injustice, tyranny,
condemnation, almost insurmountable
forces of Sadducees, Zealots, Romans,
and Pharisees. Was Jesus fanatical
and mistaken? Let history speak for
itself? Jesus challenges the people
of earth while they work, yet, fight,
all the while having faith in the
consequences. That's the conquering
Faith!"
