Full Snow Moon for Feb. 12; also Candlemas / / / Groundhog Day (2/2)

Full Snow Moon is Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025

Its peak illumination will be 8:53 a.m. Eastern;

look for it the night ahead of the 12th when it

reaches its height around midnight.

February on average is the snowiest month

of the entire year!

 Annual winter holidays that originated with

European churches that blessed CANDLES

brought to weekly mass by people;

it was associated with the Holy Family

presenting young Jesus at the Jerusalem

Temple when he was of age.

Groundhog Day is observed on Feb. 2

no matter what weekday it falls upon;

this year is Sunday and many places will

be trying to tie in with Punxatauney, PA

at 7:30 a.m. Eastern Time and the

announcement of Phil the Groundhog.
