89-year-old passed over for 2023 job of President Pro Tempore (4th in line for POTUS)

 According to comments by Sen. Majority leader Schumer,

the oldest member of the U.S. Senate (Dianne Feinstein, sr. Senator CA)

will be passed over as the successor to Patrick Leahy (Vermont) who retired

1/3/2023.

The New President Pro Tempore will be Senator Patty Murray (Washington State)

Both women have been Senators since Nov. 1992.
