Winter Storm Warning (Jan. 29) and two-day Wind Chill Warning for SW Michigan (Berrien County)

.WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST WEDNESDAY January 30, 2019... ...WIND CHILL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TUESDAY TO 2 PM EST THURSDAY January 31, 2019... 

* WHAT...Periods of lake effect snow showers. Dangerously cold wind chills expected. Lake effect snow showers with total snow accumulations in excess of 6 inches possible through Wednesday. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Wind chills dropping to 10 below to 20 below Tuesday afternoon, and as cold as 45 below zero Tuesday night through Thursday afternoon. 
* WHERE...Berrien and Cass, MICHIGAN Counties. 

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 1 PM EST Wednesday. For the Wind Chill Warning, from 1 PM Tuesday to 2 PM EST Thursday. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible during this period. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Slick roads expected due to dropping temperatures. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values
