A star-studded music tribute concert will honor the late Queen of Soul, but it won’t be in her hometown of Detroit.
The Recording Academy and music living legend Clive Davis are putting on the special tribute to Aretha Franklin, according to the Associated Press. The concert will take place on January 13, 2019 in Los Angeles featuring Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, and Celine Dion. It will be hosted by Tyler Perry.
“Aretha! A GRAMMY Celebration For The Queen Of Soul” will be at the Shrine Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. PT and will eventually be broadcast on CBS. A date for that hasn’t been announced yet (JANUARY. 1, 2019). Also scheduled to perform some of Franklin’s biggest hits are Celine Dion, Yolanda Adams, Alessia Cara, and John Legend.
Presale tickets for the show go on sale on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. ET (use code Aretha). The rest of the tickets go on sale on Monday, Dec. 31 at 1:00 p.m ET
