Caracas, Venezuela

I learned this reading Venezuelan Heritage

by Tamra B. Orr

for Cherry lake publishing dot-

org (2018, Ann Arbor, MI)

In Caracas, Venezuela

people speak a special form

of Spanish.  It blends

Portuguese, African, and

Italian words. In remote areas,

the language is very different.

It can be almost impossible

for others to understand!

VENEZUELA is one of the most

mega-diverse countries in the world.

This means it is home to most of the

planet's wildlife species.  There are only

16 other countries that are mega-diverse.

A number of native species can only be

found in Venezuela . . .

Roman Catholic.  Others identify as

either Protestant or Atheist.  In the

capital (Caracas) there are small

communities of Jews as well as

Muslims.  The capital city has a

large mosque.
