8 p.m. a CBS special
It's the Great Pumpkin,
Charlie Brown!
first aired on a Thursday near Halloween,
pre-empting the My Three Sons comedy
sitcom that had that time spot weekly.
It scored ratings bonanzas for CBS the
Major Network to show it for decades
thereafter. Once DISNEY / ABC acquired
the "Peanuts" catalog and trademark rights
it aired a few more years in the 21st century
annually until it was moved over to "Streaming"
and "Pay Per View".
story by Charles Schulz and
directed by Bill Melendez -- score including
Jazz pieces by Vince Guaraldi
