He has resigned from post as Minority Leader of the Senate GOP
He made his resignation official with a speech on the floor
two days before the Government runs out of funds for
several of its departments;
he will no longer be leader of the Senate Republican caucus
after this year but will serve out his elected term of six
years as Kentucky senior Senator
