Candlelight Vigil for Suicide victims / families (Sacred Waters, Mishawaka, IN): Tues. Sept. 26, 2017 evening

On Tuesday night 6:30 p.m., a candlelight vigil will be held to honor and remember those who have died by suicide.
Barbara Gulbranson, the Suicide Prevention Center program director at United Health Services, joined us on NewsCenter 16 at Noon to tell NEWS viewers about the event.

The vigil will be held at Sacred Waters, located at 16990 Douglas Rd. in Mishawaka, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

Approximately 44,193 people die by suicide in the U.S. each year. Of the 117 who die by suicide each day, 20 are veterans.
The largest group of people who die by suicide are middle aged men, followed by the elderly.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people ages 15-24
