Voting deadline Shelby County, IL - Nov. General Election 2016

from news coverage of Shelbyville Daily - Union dot-com:

Those wanting to vote in the upcoming General Election 2016 have until Oct. 11 (Tuesday) to register.
Anyone who has had a name or address change or will be 18 years of age by Nov. 8 needs to register by Oct. 11. This is the registration deadline to be able to vote at the polling places. Anyone who has not voted in recent elections is encouraged to have their registration status checked with the County Clerk's Office.
"There will not be voter registration at the polling places because Shelby County does not meet the population guidelines," said Shelby County Clerk Jessica Fox.
An injunction by a federal judge Tuesday (Sept. 27, 2016) halted poll site registration in highly populated areas of the state, calling the law unconstitutional.
"The injunction doesn't really affect us." Fox said.
Registration may be done at the County Clerk's Office or online at www.elections.il.gov. To register, applicants must present two forms of identification, one of which must show correct physical address.
Registration may be done at the State of Illinois Driver's Licenses facility only if there needs to be a change of information on the license.
Beginning Oct. 12, qualified voters may register and vote at the County Clerk's Office as part of the Grace Period voting. Grace Period voters must vote at the same time as registration and will only cast their ballot at the County Clerk's Office during regular office hours.
Absentee voting requests may be made through Nov. 3. Voters must be correctly registered to submit a request.
