No public memorial / "celebration of Life"
for the Chicago coach / football player set in any
calendar; he coached 11 seasons for the
NFL team, gaining 1 Super Bowl win and
also had played college and pro years himself.
Social Media explains at mid-month that the
Chicago BEARS team
will mark his passing on
THURS. Oct. 22, 2026
during a home game, marking
a tribute to Mike Ditka.
The funeral mass is private,
by invitation only -- his surviving
family is in charge.
