This course (weekly sessions starting
at 1 p.m. in rooms 101 - 102)
concerns the legacy of fascism
and the conflict upon the German
people, specifically the families
and survivors of the NAZI (Nazional
Socialisten Partei) beginning with
the de-Nazification program initiated
by the 4 powers (U.S., Britain, France,
Soviet Russia). We will discuss the
Nuremberg Trials, military tribunals,
executions, imprisonments, as well as
the fates of German prisoners-of-war.
Also, the refugee population and
Holocaust resettlement, widows and
"rubble women" living in devastated
cities; the education of German-speaking
youth in post-war publications and media.
