Governor of NB expected to recover after surgical repair of
broken ribs; second surgery a success at Nebraska Medicine
in Omaha, NB.
No issues with his bruised kidney, injured spleen, or punctured
lung.

The first-term Republican governor of NB was with his family
Sunday when he was thrown off a new horse and injured. EMTs
rushed him to a hospital in Columbus, NB and then he was airlifted
to U. of NB Medical Center in Omaha.
He was reported as "conscious and alert" and in touch with his
staff; he will remain hospitalized for several days.
The 68-year-old was elected in 2022 and previously worked
as veterinarian and owned a livestock operation.
