HHS Secy. Xavier Becerra announced that there
will not be a ruling of his exec. branch dept.
this year on the likely ban of the cigarette additive.
Since 2009, flavors were banned; however, menthol
was left out after lobbying from the industry.
Previously in 2023 the Biden-Harris admin. set a
deadline to take away the popular additive but
that has past with only "pending" on official
announcement channels.
