3003 Benham Avenue, Elkhart.
Free and open to the public.
On Monday, January 20, the Intercultural Competence and Undoing Racism (ICUR) team will celebrate Dr. King's legacy with a panel discussion and community conversation featuring local Elkhart voices, including Rev. Willie Jean Mayes and Jean Robinson, and special guest Benjamin J. Tapper, co-founder of the Hear Me Project. The goals of the event are to:
- Name local incidences of harm against the African American community and the ongoing impact
- Highlight ways these harms have and have not been systematically addressed
- Encourage work for change and redress for the benefit of the whole community
