Iraq's Prime Minister has been "dislodged" by President of Iraq and Parliament (Wash. Post news alert) August 11, 2014 9:15 a.m. Eastern Time
Iraq on Monday dislodged Nouri al-Maliki after eight years in power, despite his last-ditch efforts to cling to the position.
Iraqi President Fouad Massoum called on Haider al-Abadi, a member of Maliki's ruling party and currently the deputy speaker of parliament, to form a new government.
