In an act of political assassination, State Repr.
Melissa Hortman was attacked point-blank
at her Minnesota home and executed along with
her husband and golden retriever by an
assassin who also then shot others in a path
of deliberate political violence. The special election today
between Xp Lee (D) and Ruth Bittner (R)
in the suburbs of Minneapolis will provide representation in the
Minnesota House of Representatives but mark a point to move
on in the evenly split State legislature by settling the essential
