New Cardiac and Vascular Clinic Space -- Spectrum Lakeland Niles Hospital expansion

from ABC 57 coverage (local affiliate)

NILES, Mich. – Spectrum Health Lakeland began construction to expand heart and vascular services at its Niles hospital.

This expansion will create 3,760 square feet of new clinical space within the hospital, including 10 state-of-the-art exam rooms.

The expansion is part of a $2.9 million facility investment and includes renovations to the hospital’s bariatric and orthopedic units.

The building that currently holds Lakeland Heart and Vascular in Niles will be cleared to open up additional parking once the new expansion is completed.

“The decision to consolidate all heart and vascular services in one location within the hospital will help improve access and convenience for patients seeking cardiac care,” said Ray Cruse, president, Spectrum Health Lakeland Hospital Niles. “The added clinical space will also allow the Niles cardiology group to increase patient volumes while providing a better overall patient experience.”

The project is possible thanks to a number of community donors, including the French family, who have been members of the Niles community for over 150 years.
