SCOTUS Justice John Paul Stevens - ceremony at Great Hall - July 22, 2019
Justice John Paul Stevens was brought into the Great Hall of the Supreme Court building on Monday to lie in repose, with his successor, Justice Elena Kagan, saying that his memory “will be a blessing in this court, which he served so well for so long.”
“It will be a blessing in the lives of all the people whom he personally touched,” Kagan added. “And it will be a blessing in the wider world, which has been made far better for his efforts.”
Kagan was the only member of the court to speak during the brief ceremony, but she was joined by Chief Justice John Roberts, Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Samuel Alito and Sonia Sotomayor, and retired Justice Anthony Kennedy.

Concert cancelled on June 16 due to Miami FL storm rescheduled on Friday August 16 in South Bend, IN (Pitbull, recording artist)
Story published July 16 by southbendtribune.com online --
The Pitbull concert at Four Winds Field that was canceled at the last minute in June has been rescheduled for Aug. 16, the South Bend Cubs announced Tuesday.
That's a Friday night, a day before another concert at the ballpark that will feature artist Snoop Dogg.
Concert goers gathered at the ballpark on June 16 were told late in the evening, after the opening act, that Pitbull was not able to make it to South Bend to perform because of bad weather in Florida.
Although Pitbull’s absence was certainly something to be upset about, the one-and-a-half opening acts served their purpose.
A few days later, Cubs owner Andrew Berlin said he was shocked by the artist's no show and questioned the weather excuse.
Andrew Berlin says he didn't learn of cancellation until 30 minutes before announcing it to crowd
Refunds were available to ticket holders starting in late June.
Still a chance the concert may be rescheduled.
Tickets for the rescheduled concert are now available for purchase at the South Bend Cubs box office, at www.pitbullsouthbend.com or by calling 574-235-9988.
Fans who still have their original Pitbull tickets may exchange them at the box office for new tickets to the Aug. 16 concert. There will be no fee or cost for exchanging tickets.
Ticket prices for the August 16 concert are the same as the original concert in June: $79, $59 and $45.
Each ticket purchased for the rescheduled concert will come with a complimentary ticket to a South Bend Cubs game. Complimentary tickets will be good for any Monday through Thursday evening ballgame at Four Winds Field during the month of August 2019.
